David Allen in the cut
Last week we played host to heavyweight boxer David Allen, better known by his moniker The White Rhino, at our Paddington barbershop in west London. David was interviewed in the chair whilst Vito gave him a haircut and beard trim, to get Allen in fighting-fit shape for his upcoming face off.
Allen is increasingly popular on the boxing circuit – for his great sense of humour and toughness in the ring. He’s quite the entertainer on social media too!
‘The Cut’
Matchroom Boxing’s YouTube series, The Cut, is a pre-match catch up with the boxers, where they visit barbers and interview them in the chair about their upcoming matches as well future plans. Watch the video at the top of the page.
What haircut did he get?
Vito worked his magic on the White Rhino, who opted for a low 0.5 skin fade on the back and sides, keeping length on top with a lot of texture cut in and left really natural. As Allen also keeps a beard, he needed a shape up and trim, which was taken down to a grade 2 and shaped up with the cut throat razor.
Fight Night
The White Rhino faced off against David Price at the O2 on Saturday 20th July in front of the Sky Sports Box Office cameras.
Sadly, Allen didn’t win the championship, losing out to competitor David Price by RTD in the 10th round, but the card was a night full of exciting action, including the heavyweight-headline act: Dillian Whyte vs Oscar Rivas. Whyte defeated his Colombian opponent on points to win the WBC Interim title.
