Danilo
Danilo’s humble beginnings of barbering started in his garage, cutting friends’ and family’s hair to gain experience. He grew up in a small countryside town called Americana, San Paulo in Brazil. He quickly learned that he had an exceptional drive and skill for it, so much so in fact that upon completion of his 4-month training course, he went on to be one very well-trained barber. The first step into cutting hair for pay came when he decided to expand his experience by working in a local barbershop before opening his own independent business in San Paulo with two of his closest friends. He’s never forgotten the sense of accomplishment he felt when his business took off. Building it from the ground up, was the most memorable, exciting, tough and rewarding experience of his life.
Danilo is always looking for ways to better himself and his barbering skills. In 2020, after seeing that there were many more opportunities here in London than back home. He left everything behind to chase his life goal. He loves seeing positive results from customers when they leave the shop with a smile on their face and it’s why he does what he does! Danilo’s speciality is long trims and his favourite styles are from the 40’s and 50’s era – long slicked back on the sides and top. He also enjoys a classic Gentleman’s cut – a style he’s mastered to perfection in his 7 years of barbering. An expert at skin fades scissor styles, clipper cuts, beard trims, and everything in between.
Danilo is a man of many interests. You’ll find him hanging out in East London’s Brick Lane markets or visiting old record stores in Camden Town on weekends, where he spends his free time wandering the outdoor markets. East London is the perfect place for Danilo, matching his relaxed, easy-going personality and timeless charm that our clients love. He’s a big fan of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, who he says had an incredible amount of energy when he saw them live in Wembley. Their 1999 Californication album is his favourite by them and it always brings him back to when they played “Scar Tissue” at one gig in particular where everyone went berserk! Danilo loves to escape London and visit the Netherlands. He enjoys time spent in Amsterdam, where he can absorb its baroque architecture while enjoying chips from a cone-selling shop nearby Dam Square (known locally as ‘Manneken Pis Damrak’).
One of Danilo’s hidden talents is playing football. He played in a big team back in Brazil when he was just 13 years old, making him a semi-professional footballer. He’s since left the sport when moving to London to pursue his career.
